Over time an arena surface wears thin in places. We top up existing ménages (also spelt menage or manège) and outdoor arenas by spreading a new waxed silica sand mix across the arena with our mini digger, levelling it out, and harrowing it to an even, finished surface.

Yes. We spread new waxed silica sand mix over an existing ménage or arena with our mini digger, level it out and harrow it to a finished surface. Tell us about the arena and the material, and send a few photos if you can.

What surface material do you work with?

The ménage in our photos was topped up with a waxed silica sand mix, spread and harrowed to a finished surface. Tell us what your current arena surface is when you ask for a quote.

Do you bring the machine and operator?

Yes. We bring our own mini digger, and every machine comes with an experienced operator, so there is nothing for you to hire, collect or drive.

Do you cover livery yards?

Yes. We work for livery yards and equestrian businesses across Essex, London and nationwide, and for private horse owners in Chelmsford and the surrounding villages.

Is a menage the same as an arena?

Yes. Ménage (often spelt menage or manège) is the usual name for an outdoor riding arena. Whichever name you use, we can top up and level the surface.

Can you help with drainage and weeds around the arena?

Yes. We also carry out groundwork and drainage, and weed control on arena edges, tracks and paddocks, so these can be looked at alongside a surface top-up.
